Join Anne-Marie and Sarah on Thursday January 10th from 6:30pm-8:30pm for An Introduction to Yoga for Beginners Workshop. This class is for anyone beginning their exploration into yoga, but is also appropriate for those more experienced yogis who would like to learn more about classical poses, alignment, and variations. The class will begin with a brief introduction around the practice of yoga, including information about the various styles of yoga, and the many benefits of yoga. We will also discuss the importance of breath awareness.
Classical yoga poses will be taught with an emphasis on proper alignment & time to allow each student to find the variation & modification that feels right. Students will be carefully guided through each classical pose, with modifications, props, and hands-on assistance to support each person’s progress. There is no one way to do a yoga pose and therefore we will focus on helping students find the most safe and effective variation so that they can use this knowledge to confidently attend any yoga class with the ability to modify/adjust when needed.
